My name is Maxine although that wasn’t my name for about 10 years or so. I was picked up as a stray in Alabama and ended up at a high kill shelter so they named me Maxine. I am a small to medium dog, only about 16 inches tall and weighing less than 30 pounds. Now I am a foster dog in a home with two sister dogs and a brother cat. I was a little worried about my sister dogs at first but we are working on getting along and doing really well now. One of them is an old grouchy dog so we had to learn to be nice to each other. I don’t bother with that cat at all. I have learned the routine in my new foster home quickly because I’m very smart. I am a great leash walker and walk 2 or 3 miles every day with my sister dogs and people. I am totally housebroken and very quiet at night. I may have a minor problem with my vision but I am still able to see well enough to get around without any problems. I’m not an overly affectionate dog but I like to know where my people are and I love to stay close to them. I love to be petted and scratched behind the ears most of all. I need a forever home with someone who will love me for the rest of my life. I appear to be very healthy, am heart worm negative and have no obvious medical issues so I could enjoy a lot more years with someone who will love me."Thank you for your interest in a Sandi Paws Rescue, Inc.
