I am already spayed, up to date with shots, and not good with cats.
My name is Velvet! If you’re looking for a wise, independent cat, I am for you. I am low maintenance, low fuss, and pretty much the perfect housemate. I’ll say hello in the morning, and go about my lounging. I enjoy play time, then look forward to getting back to my nap! It may take me a while, but once I am comfortable I am a wonderful easy going companion! I would prefer to be an only cat, but if you have others that are also independent I am able to co-exist nicely with others of like mind!
The Homeless Pets Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 1998 by Dr. Michael Good, an Atlanta veterinarian who saw a need to create an organization that could assist animal shelters and pet owners in need. In the Atlanta area alone, there are more than 100,000 animals destroyed each year for lack of a home. The Foundation provides critical medical care, food, foster care and comfort to these homeless animals.

NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter!
Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures,
