Cookie's Story...
Cookie and her sister Cream (also available for adoption) have a pretty sad story.
Their mother was allowed to give birth to 7 kittens in the dead of winter but was not allowed to come in the house, so had to care for them outside in a dog kennel!
2 did not survive but the remaining 5 did and are fine because they were fed and handled by a lot of kids. The people feeding them had to moved and could only take 2 of them with them and they found a home for 1. The remaining 2 (Cookie and Cream) were left behind were they were not wanted by the parents who owned the house.
We took them in and had previously fixed all 5 plus Mom months earlier when we offered to take them in at that time but they did not want to give them up.
So they have been spayed, vaccinated for FVRCP and rabies, flea and wormed and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV.
Super sweet and lovable and just want to be inside safe and warm and loved like they deserve to be!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cookie, a Bear Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Bear, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Bear.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bear already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bear breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bear paves the way for another one to be saved.
