Willow's Story...
Meet Willow! Willow is a sweet 13 year old Standard Poodle. She was surrendered to us through no fault of her own. Her elderly owners were unable to care for her properly and they made the difficult decision to find a caring home for Willow. Willow is very friendly and good with kids, dogs and even cats. She is low to medium energy. Don't let her age fool you! She greets her foster family, prancing at the door when they come home. She likes her daily walks, but will not be upset if you have to miss one. Willow is good on leash, but likes to stop and smell the roses. She is not reliable off leash, partly because she has some hearing loss and partly because of love to sniff everything! She does have some difficulty going up sets of stairs, but has no problem doing 2-3 steps or getting out of the car. Willow is up to date on vaccines, spayed and is not on any medications.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Willow, a Bowmanville Poodle (Standard) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Poodle (Standard) for sale in Bowmanville, or seeking a Poodle (Standard) dog from a breeder in Bowmanville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bowmanville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bowmanville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Poodle (Standard) breeders who help with Poodle (Standard) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bowmanville paves the way for another one to be saved.
