Petey has this look about him like he's always about to tell you a hilarious joke. He is an older gentlemen, but is still young at heart in a lot of ways. He can be a little crotchety too, but so would anyone in his position. He is super eager to find out who his next family will be, and to resume a life of leisure and belly rubs.
Petey was surrendered to us along with his best gal pal Sugar. When it comes to other dogs, Sugar is about the only one he tolerates. He tends to get territorial, and can get a little excitable on walks when he sees other dogs passing by. With people, he is as sweet as can be. He loves belly rubs, and isn't shy about asking anyone for them. He is not a yappy dog by nature, and is quiet and well-behaved in the home. He is down for hanging in his crate when asked, but would likely be all right being left outside of it. He is fully house trained. Aside from his edginess with other dogs, he is a pretty good leash walker. He can even jog for a quarter mile or so.
Petey would be happiest as the only pet in the house, unless that other pet is Sugar. He is a pretty mellow little dude, and thrives in a similarly mellow environment. We have not seen him around kids or cats.
Petey is mostly a quiet, unassuming dog who has just the right amount of goofiness to make him stand out. Come meet him!
