Buddy is a sweet, happy older sheltie gentleman.    He is looking for a “retirement” home where he will be spoiled!    Older dogs are easy going, so loving, and so appreciative of the simple things in life – good food, a warm bed, and the love and security of a family.
Buddy is great with kids and loves attention.   He is well behaved in the house and housebroken.   Buddy has had a full veterinary exam and we found that he does have a heart murmur, but the vet says that it won’t affect his quality of life and he has no exercise restrictions.   Buddy has some arthritis, as we would expect at his age, and it would probably help him to lose some weight.
Buddy is a sweet old boy who deserves a great home with someone who wants to make a difference in the life of an older dog!

About Almost Home Dog Rescue of Ohio, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

Almost Home Dog Rescue of Ohio is made up of a small (but growing) group of enthusiastic volunteers who want to make a difference in the lives of homeless dogs. Our background is with purebred collies and collie mixes but on occasion, we have other "family friendly" breeds. If you are searching for a collie, we'd like to help you find a wonderful companion that fits your family's lifestyle. All of our dogs are fully vaccinated and are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. They have also been tested and are negative for heartworm and are on heartworm preventative.

Our Adoption Process...

If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs please go directly to for an application. Once the application is submitted, our adoption team can discuss the information on the application with you to determine if one of our dogs would be a good fit for your home. Lastly, a home visit will be done either by one of our volunteers or another reputable rescue volunteer in your area. We do adopt out of state, but it is up to the adopter to come meet and take the dog home. Sound like a lot to go through for a dog? It really isn't as complicated as it seems and it's the best way to ensure a good match. Please contact with any additional questions you may have after reviewing the information on our website.
