My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dixie was seized from her owner when they failed to comply with parish ordinances regarding chained dogs. She is approximately 9 months old and very energetic and happy. Dixie has never met a stranger and was raised with other animals and children. She's got a great personality but more energy than your average dog and has been in the shelter for 5 months so she has a serious need for an active owner who can burn some of that energy off of her and begin training. Dog adoption is 130.00 and includes spay/neuter, heartworm testing, age appropriate vaccines including a 3 year rabies, health exam, deworming, and microchipping. Any animal 6 months or older is considered an adult. No animals are vetted until they are adopted as we do not have a vet on staff. Once the animal is adopted we make a vet appointment, and they must go to be vetted before they can go home with an adopter. Call 985.651.7387 for more information regarding adoption.
