Hi!  My name is Axel and I am 5 months old. You can probably tell I won’t be as big as some dogs when I grow up, but that’s ok because I have a huge heart – it’s almost as big as my ears!  I never knew what living inside a house was like, but now I know I LOVE IT!!  At first, I didn’t like it much because I had ringworm when my foster family took me in and being kept in a crate was BORING.  All I could do was watch the cats watch me and another GSD walk by every once in a while and stare at me which was no fun at all!  Now I get to run anywhere I want!  I can play with the cats (I run up to them and watch them run), play with Danielle the other GSD (she likes “smiling” at me) and run after my toys when my humans throw them for me!  My favorite place is the dog bed.  I like to collect all my toys, the cat toys, the cat scratching post, socks and shoes, and pile them up beside me on my bed!  I love to sit for treats and being held on a lap for belly rubs!  I am house trained and we are still working on being crate trained.  I do get worried when my humans go outside without me so I sit and wait for them to come back in.  If I don’t see them soon, I talk really loud so they know which house to come back to!  I really like when we go for a walk and see new things!  They tell me I walk great on a leash, but I just like walking by their side!  I love being in my foster home, but it’s time for me to find my own home with my permanent humans.  So if you are looking for a best friend who will always be by your side, who will always be ready to explore new adventures and who will love you more than you will love them, please let my foster parents know so I can meet you!

About Rescue Reinvented

About Our Rescue Group...

It’s all about the dogs!

Rescue Reinvented is a 501(c)(3), all-volunteer, foster based organization in Houston, Texas. Our mission is to rescue and train dogs, primarily German Shepherd Dogs, with the goal of finding them a permanent and loving home. All dogs will receive full veterinary care, including spay/neuter, positive training, and necessary behavior modification before they are ready to adopt. The organization will provide ongoing support and training to adopters of our dogs.

In the future, Rescue Reinvented plans to also add focus on service and community, with two distinct programs to identify potential Service/Companion Dog candidates as well as outreach to senior citizens and people with serious illness or disability to help them keep their pets by providing food and transportation for vet care.

Our Adoption Process...

See our Website for Important Adoption Policies

http://rescuereinvented.org/?page_id=4767

To adopt a dog, we require a mandatory donation to help offset the costs of medical treatment and expenses incurred during the rescue. Best case scenario medical treatment includes examinations, heartworm tests, heartworm treatment or preventative, spay/neuter, and vaccinations. However, many dogs come into our rescue malnourished and suffering from infections, which adds on to the cost of treatment.

All adoptions include 2 private training sessions, and all dogs are spay/neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, and current on heartworm preventatives.

Our rescue is entirely volunteer run, ALL adoption donations go directly back towards helping rescue another dog. We could not do this without the generosity of our adopters!
