Finn is a 1 1/2 year old Lab/Feist mix who came to us with a badly broken left front leg that had been ignored by his owners for two weeks. As a result the veterinarian had no choice but to amputate that leg and Finn has recovered in a foster home and learned to cope on three legs. He is a very happy and loving boy and has adapted well to his new situation. He absolutely LOVES children, is great with dogs, but is not so good with kitties. He likes to g outside to enjoy the sun but is very much a house boy - completely housetrained, playful and good at playing tug-o-war while laying down. He won't be able to go on walks or hikes as he tires quickly as it takes a lot more work to walk missing a front leg but he is healthy as can be and just perfect for the family wanting a perfect best friend to spend most of this time inside with the family. One thing - no stairs please. He could handle maybe three or four steps but nothing more as that is just tough to do with only one front leg and a long body. Finn is 36 lbs.
All pet adoption websites & our shelter management software require that we choose a primary and/or secondary breed for our dogs. While our staff is quite breed knowledgeable, in many cases we are truly making our best guesses as to their breed(s) based on many factors but cannot promise that what we have said is accurate. So taking into account your own parameters for things such as size, coat care, activity level, etc please come and get to know our dog(s) as individuals to see if their personalities and yours are a forever match.
