found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
Meet Sasha, a beautiful lab mix female who is approximately one year old. Sasha had a difficult start before coming to LGAR. She was surrendered to a high kill shelter in New York when her owners reported that their landlord didn't allow dogs. Sasha was adopted out twice from the shelter and returned before making her way into a rescue who could take the time to address her needs. Being such a young girl with an unstable start, she was very scared and was sent immediately into training to help prepare her for her forever home. Sasha started very unsure of strangers and needed to learn how to trust people. Once she was stabilized, she started to blossom and we are thrilled with her progress. Her forever home will benefit from continuing the work we started.
While in training, Sasha learned basic obedience and how to walk on a leash like a pro! She is wonderful with other dogs- male, female, big, small. Sasha is crate trained and housebroken. This cutie pie has gained confidence while being in training and now feels comfortable with strangers, although she prefers to be introduced by her human leaders who can direct her and show her how to act like a grown up, well behaved dog (she still has so much puppy energy!). By having calm, capable human leaders, she feels safe knowing she can rely on her people and loves having a balance of structure and discipline with love and playtime.
Sasha would benefit from a home that provides her with frequent structured exercise- walking, hiking, running, biking. She would love to find a home that would be willing to work with her trainer to help integrate her into their home. Our goal is a successful happy forever home that takes the time to learn how to be the best leader possible! Transitioning into a new home can be scary for a dog and by spending this time learning how to provide a stable foundation will benefit Sasha (and any dog) greatly and allow her to feel confident, settled, and safe. We encourage any questions and are happy to explain our training philosophy further.
Sasha is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heart worm negative, and microchipped. We require an adoption application, home visit, and adoption fee. Please contact us for more information. Thank you.
