Sassy's Story...
5 years old - Female - Lab/Bassett hound mix
She's such a good little girl. Very well mannered. Loves to have company. She's very relaxed and calm. Great on leash and great in the car. I've only heard her bark once and that was when I was getting her food together. She's great with kids. She rolls on her back once you walk up to her or she'll walk up to you and roll on her back. LOVES her belly rubs. She's ok with dogs, but right now she wouldn't be good with very dominant dogs. (probably because she obviously had puppies not so long ago) She's super cute too! I can't resist the stubby legged dogs. Completely housebroken. She waited over 8 hours to go outside.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sassy, a Austin Labrador Retriever/Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Basset Hound for sale in Austin, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Basset Hound breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
