Daisy & Duke's Story...
Daisy and Duke are a bonded pair of cockatiels. They are both one year old. They were rarely handled in their previous home so they are not tame yet; we are working on taming them and having them step up now. However, they are not aggressive. You can grab them out of the cage when necessary and even though they will make a fuss, they don't bite. They like sitting on shoulders and they like human interaction especially through the cage. Daisy and Duke are not overly loud birds but they do sing to each other, especially in the morning. They are on a pelleted diet. They must be adopted together. They are sweet birds that will thrive in a patient, loving home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Daisy & Duke, a St. Louis Cockatiel was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cockatiel for sale in St. Louis, or seeking a Cockatiel from a breeder in St. Louis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St. Louis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St. Louis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cockatiel breeders who help with Cockatiel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St. Louis paves the way for another one to be saved.
