Sprinkles's Story...
Courtesy post - Sprinkles (Spinks) is a 6 yr old female tabby with maine coon mix resemblances, searching for a new home. Her brother Thunder is also up for adoption. Both kitties are being surrendered by their current owner because they are said to not get along with the dogs in the house. We think they will do better in a home that understands that cats need their space when they want it. They love to sleep in laps, play with the laser pointer, and the climb the cat tree. Both cats have been handled by children (infant to age 8) and are accustomed to them. Both cats are medically cared for by the Prince Frederick Animal Hospital and the Calvert Well Pet Clinic. The cats can come with their cat tree (needs a little cleaning up and replacing of some of the Sisal rope if you plan to keep it), laser pointer, a new bag of dry cat food (morning feeding) and a new box of wet cat food (evening feeding). Their owner asks us every week if we've found a home for them yet and we really want to help so they are not at a threat of going to the shelter. Foster homes are welcome, too!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sprinkles, a Waldorf Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Waldorf, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Waldorf.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Waldorf already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Waldorf breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Waldorf paves the way for another one to be saved.
