Here's what Duke's foster mom has to say about him:

What’s not to love about Duke! He is silly and so very affectionate and he’d stay cuddled under blankets with me all day. To know him is to love him. Duke is very smart and learns quickly. He needs someone who has the time to help him achieve his potential. The things this little boy could learn so quickly with someone who can give him more one on one! Little Duke is a sweet, happy, loving little boy. He sleeps under the blankets at night and snuggles up next to my legs. He has a tendency to push the other dogs out of the way to get my attention. His preference is to be next to where I am rather than with the other dogs. He is food driven and so I put a bit of water in his kibble to slow down his eating otherwise he’ll eat without swallowing and then cough away. For a little dog, he has great bladder control and never has accidents in the house. He is kenneled for 4 hours at a time and has no issues with his kennel.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Duke, a Regina Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Regina, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Regina.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Regina already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Regina breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Regina paves the way for another one to be saved.
