My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Walking down the corridor of an animal shelter can be a very emotional experience. You see faces looking at you from inside all the kennels. Each one has a different expression. Each one has a different story but each one is looking for the same thing, a sense of belonging. Happy, excited, scared, depressed, indifferent. Some seem to accept that for now this is home. Some have adjusted to the chaos over time that surrounds them. Some are so anxious for someone to love. Some are nervous and are vigilant of who they trust. Some are saddened by the memories of the life they once knew. Some seem to have given up and closed themselves off to the world. Some are terrified of the walls that confine them.

Juju is one of the pups you will meet if you visit the Manchester Animal Shelter. Although his kennel is not his happy place he always wears his smile. He has a bubbly personality that captures your attention. Energy that radiates from his every move that will surely keep you on your toes. There is a cuteness about him that’s hard to deny. Juju is so proud of his toys he carries them around like prizes.

A few of his favorite things are long walks, a good game of fetch (although bringing the ball back isn’t always necessary lol), cuddling and entertaining you with his goofy antics. The activity doesn’t really matter he just wants to be by your side.

On the prowl for someone to love. This boy is a true friend. He’s witty, silly, smart and loyal. At only a year old he has already started to compose his bucket list.
•Become a beloved family member
•Study proper pup etiquette
•Master the art of leash walking
•Graduate at the top of his class
•Go on to further his education
•Hike the tallest mountain
•Train for a marathon
•Find endless unconditional true love

Our little Pittie still has some very strong puppy traits. His past life didn’t present him with the opportunity to overcome some of those annoying behaviors but if you invest the time and devote your heart he will kick his bad habits quickly. How’s a pup to know what is right and wrong when he’s never been taught the difference?

Juju doesn’t care to extend his friendship to other pups. In fact he doesn’t enjoy being around them at all. He might consider taking up residence with a dog savvy cat but he hasn’t quite made up his mind about that yet. Juju is very bouncy, quick, excitabull and wiggly so an adult home would suit him best. He longs for a fenced in yard to relieve some pent up energy! An active family who’s always taking on a new adventure with pup in tow.

Are you ready to open your heart and home up to a new companion? Are you ready to make the commitment every one of our residents wants but more importantly deserves? Maybe Juju is just the new friend you are looking for. Maybe you should stop by and meet him. And just maybe you will be his happily ever after!

Note: As with all of our dogs, we strongly recommend obedience classes for new owner and dog to create a life-long bond with the adopted dog based on trust, respect and rewarding training experiences. We are offering dog training classes through FMAS Wagtime Dog Training. You can check out more information at www.fmaswagtime.com. We can help you train practical skills you use every day with positive reinforcement training. Our shelter dogs are strays and we observe and assess their behavior at the shelter which may be somewhat different in a home environment. In addition dogs adopted from the Manchester Animal Shelter are spayed/neutered, microchipped and have received their Rabies and distemper vaccinations as well as other necessary medical care such as flea treatment. All dogs are also heartworm tested. Some prudent care such as heartworm medication is not provided at the shelter and should be taken care of at the earliest convenience upon adoption.
