Barnaby's Story...
Barnaby is a great little guy who will be a nice addition to just about any family. He was found as a stray and turned into the local shelter. Barnaby is a young shih tzu who is friendly with everyone he meets. He is in a foster home with children as young as 6 and another small dog. Barnaby likes to play with the other dog in his foster home, sleep with the kids, ride in the car, and go for walks. He seems to be house trained and is good in his crate.
Barnaby was a mess from living on the streets but he is now looking and feeling good and ready for a home. At the shelter they estimated him to be about 6 yrs old but now that he is cleaned up and healthy we think he is younger. He weighs 13 lbs.
Barnaby is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative. He has also had a dental cleaning. His adoption fee is $350. If you are interested in Barnaby please submit an application which can be found on our website at No phone calls please.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Barnaby, a Grafton Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Grafton, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Grafton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grafton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grafton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grafton paves the way for another one to be saved.
