Be prepared to fall in love with this super special boy! This is Bender and he came from an animal shelter where he was brought in as a stray. He may not always be the sharpest tack in the drawer but he is full of love! Bender is probably about 3 years old now and he has a head tilt due to some kind of neurological damage he most likely sustained as a puppy. He certainly doesn't let it slow him down at all because he can run and play with the best of them! In fact, he LOVES to play. He's a bit clumsy and he doesn't really walk in a straight line well but he doesn't mind and really, neither do we. Bender is crate trained and doesn't chew up his blankets which is a good sign. He is very affectionate and loves to bury his head in your lap. Plus, what a face! Sometimes his tongue even sticks out of the side of his mouth which makes him impossible to ever be mad at. He's mostly dog social but his social skills need a little fine tuning. He needs to be with dogs that won't be aggressive towards his different behaviors because he may feel the need to defend himself. Bender would also be best in a home without small kids because of some of his "different" behaviors.
We are a non-profit, no-kill rescue/sanctuary specializing in dobermans but also rescuing small dogs. Most of our dogs come from animal shelters before they are euthanized and are given a second chance at a new home.
Come Meet Our Pets...
We are located on a small ranch nestled in the orchards of Fillmore, ca. We are open every saturday from 11:00am-3:00pm for open house adoptions. We can arrange weekday or sunday visits by appointment as well.
Our Adoption Process...
We ask that you bring the whole family (including the four legged) so we can best match you with the right dog. Once you have found your new companion we will have you fill out a one page adoption agreement. We ask a donation of $200-$250 for a doberman and $150 for a little dog. All dogs go home spayed or neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped, with a collar, ID tag, and de-wormer.
