Harley is a large, beautiful Dobie who is about 3 years old and a volunteer favorite. He was fostered by adopters of another of our dogs for several months, and we all believed he would stay, until one day he and the family's male pit bull got into a nasty fight. It's unknown which dog started it, but surprisingly, the pit bull was the one who was badly injured. Harley has always been fine with people and female dogs, though he's more of a "people dog" and would do fine as the only dog in the home. The day that Harley came in from his foster home, there was an incident which could have led to a strange medical condition for him, but what the vet diagnosed is very uncommon and is one of those things that is arrived at after ruling out everything else. Harley's appearance is that of a healthy dog, but we'll be happy to discuss this with anyone interested in him. Veterinarians welcome!

About Dobies and Little Paws Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a non-profit, no-kill rescue/sanctuary specializing in dobermans but also rescuing small dogs. Most of our dogs come from animal shelters before they are euthanized and are given a second chance at a new home.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are located on a small ranch nestled in the orchards of Fillmore, ca. We are open every saturday from 11:00am-3:00pm for open house adoptions. We can arrange weekday or sunday visits by appointment as well.

Our Adoption Process...

We ask that you bring the whole family (including the four legged) so we can best match you with the right dog. Once you have found your new companion we will have you fill out a one page adoption agreement. We ask a donation of $200-$250 for a doberman and $150 for a little dog. All dogs go home spayed or neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped, with a collar, ID tag, and de-wormer.
