Here's what the humans have to say about me:
It got scarily close to Bailey's euthanasia time in a dismal Kansas shelter. It was definitely through no fault of his own..it's all a matter of space. He came in at a very crowded time (but then again..all times are very crowded) and was therefore given a very short window in which to be rescued. After a scramble by our very compassionate Kansas rescuer (she has a soft spot for a really cute fuzzy guy with a great temperament!), Bailey was pulled out of the shelter at the last second possible. His rescuer and shelter personnel haven't stopped raving about this adorable and engaging guy ever since.
Bailey, at 9 - 12 months old and 19 lbs is the perfect size to take along just about anywhere. He is such a perfect candidate to find his forever home in Colorado - Bailey is a natural-born walker with the energy and enthusiasm to accompany his favorite person on any path. We envision Bailey with an active family with dog-loving, respectful kids or very active retirees who enjoy spending their time with a comical fuzzy guy. Bailey would be a very family-oriented pup if given the chance...adventures, vacations or just hanging out at home would speak to the nature of this guy. A fun time would be exploring dog-friendly spots or time spent socializing with other canines and their dog-loving families. At the end of the day...there would be nothing better for Bailey than to snuggle down with his family of humans and canines..he is unknown with cats.
Bailey can be counted on to be a truly positive addition to any home. He is a low-maintenance guy whose joy at being part of a committed family would know no bounds. Bailey would shine in positive reinforcement group obedience classes since his desire to please is so strong...and it would create that special bond that exists between a trained, respectful dog and his people. After passing his temperament tests and vetting with flying colors, Bailey is ready and very excited to meet his new family.
Bailey is in need of a sudsy bath and a great brushing…. he will emerge with an amazing golden coat that over time will speak of cottony softness and good health. Bailey will require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep this lovely coat healthy and matt-free.
We've requested that Bailey be neutered prior to his transport to Denver. We're not optimistic that this will occur due to far too few vets in this industrial area of Kansas. If it doesn't, Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs for Daniel's neuter and microchip if our Denver vet is used.
Bailey will be arriving on transport in Denver in early October. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/.
