Tiki is available for foster or adoption. We are a foster-based rescue and always looking for fosters! Tiki is currently fostered in Bradenton.
Tiki is a fun, petite and high-energy girl who we saved from death row at Sebring AC. She was there by no fault of her own. She's only about a year old and 35 lbs - some kind of hound/pointer mix and possibly sighthound and cattle dog in there. It would be fun to DNA test her!
She is a sweet girl who loves to jump in your lap and give kisses. She is learning obedience commands and her manners have vastly improved. Tiki has tons of drive - she would do great at dock diving, disc, barn hunt, and lure coursing. We will not adopt her to a home with very young kids, but older kids are OK. She is friendly toward all of humankind, she is just very energetic and might accidentally bump a young child over. Her ideal home would be a sports performance home, but she would be happy to join you on runs, hikes, and beach days. This is a dog who needs a fenced yard to run and play ball in - hounds are not known for their recall and this girl is very interested in squirrels and birds.
Tiki has completed her heartworm treatment and is off of crate rest! We are having a benign mammary tumor (the last remnant of her past) removed once she tests heartworm negative, and then she will be ready to go. Get in touch if you're interested in Tiki. She is an excellent dog - everyone who meets her falls in love. The sky's the limit for this girl!
