I'm Snickers...well at least that's what the volunteers call me...it's not my real name but they don't speak "dog" so no one understands what I say. As you can tell I'm an older fella who had no intention of spending time in a place like the Muskingum County Dog Warden & Adoption Center. I used to hunt for a living and for fun as well, but I followed the wrong path and here I am. Because I'm older, my owner probably won't miss me too much...he's probably already replaced me with a younger version of myself. So here I sit. Before coming here, I was never on a leash, I was never brushed, I was never cuddled; I was a working dog, so learning to interact with humans who want to be in my face is all new to me. What makes me the happiest and the most comfortable is being outside in general and being able to sniff...that makes me feel normal again, even if it's just for a few minutes. I may be an old, but it's not too late for me to experience the great life of a house dog. I will need some time and some patience, and I may never want to curl up in your lap, but everyone deserves love and a second chance...even dogs named Snickers!
