Sam in Abilene's Story...
Help! This older Jack Russell Terrier was found on a porch on October 2nd. He was on the carport with no collar and doesn’t have a chip. They tried to get him to walk to his house but it didn’t work. They even went door to door in the neighborhood, hung flyers around the neighborhood and at the local shelter, posted on facebook pages for lost animals and in the newspaper. No luck in finding his owner. He is definitely an elderly dog, as he doesn’t get around too fast. He is super sweet and easy to take care of. All he really requires is food, water and love. This cutie is now in a shelter and is scared. If you can give this sweet senior boy a forever home, please contact elizabeth.hilton@abilenetx.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sam in Abilene, a Austin Jack Russell Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier for sale in Austin, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
