Fonz is a character and like his namesake he is full of fun! He will whine until you give him attention and play with him. Fonz loves to cuddle and once he makes his way into the big bed he becomes an immovable object and just wants to stay there and cuddle. He would like a home where he can continue his supreme big bed cuddling sessions.
Fonz is house trained but like all dachshunds he will need to be confident in his environment to have good potty habits. All rescue dogs go thru a period of adjustment so understanding and patience is important. Fonz is working on his crate training but it isn’t his favorite place to be.
Fonz lives with kitties and other dogs in his foster home. He would like to chase the kitties until he makes eye contact with them….. then he decides it isn’t a good idea after all! Fonz is, after all, a lover, not a fighter! Fonz has not been around children so children in a forever home should be respectful and over the age of 12.
Fonz came into rescue with a very sore mouth and we discovered that he has degeneration and misalignment of his bottom jaw due to lack of dental care or a sever injury before he came into rescue. Unfortunately this injury cannot be repaired. This injury in no way slows down Fonz! He eats EVERYTHING! In fact, ‘the Fonz’ makes a great show of trying to steal food any time he can from his brofurs and sisfurs whenever he can.
Fonz is a calm submissive boy who is leash trained and will even stand still to have his harness put on. Fonz is waiting! Are you the one who is going to be able to say they live with ‘THE FONZ’ ? Apply to adopt this fantastic little guy today.
