My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Winchester and York Return!

Poor Winchester and York went home and were gone for nearly a year, but they have been returned. We were told that the problem was that they were eating everything in sight including fabric. They have been here for over a week and we have not seen any indication that they are destructive. They are kittens as they are only a year-and-a-half old, and kittens can be very playful and they can be destructive, though we've not seen any of this Behavior here.

York and Winchester are one-and-a-half-year-old Maine coon mixes. York is red and white and Winchester is brown tabby and white. They are brothers and they have spent their whole lives together, so they must be adopted as a pair. We will not split them up.

Winchester is extremely sweet and outgoing. He would actually not stay in the isolation room for more than two days before he insisted on coming out. York is a bit more unsettled at his change in circumstances. Both of them are extremely affectionate, sweet sweet cats with lovely personalities. They just need to go to the right home.

The home they were in had no other cats, dogs, or children so we believe that an active home might be a better choice for these boys, a home where they will get a lot of attention and have a lot of opportunities to play and be entertained. We are not ruling out quiet homes, but we will be cautious about who adopts these brothers.

If you are interested in adopting the pair, please contact us at Merlinshoperagdollrescue@gmail.com for an application. They are in a foster home in Ennis, Texas. Their adoption fee is $350.

Sorry, we do not ship our cats or provide any transportation. All potential adopters should reside in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, or Louisiana. We will not adopt outside of those states.

Who We Are: We are a private rescue and privately funded. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, BUT A RESCUE. A rescue is a PRIVATE HOME and not a public place to visit. Adopters must make appointments prior to visiting foster homes. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, FIV/FELV tested, wormed, de-fleaed, and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Adoption Process: We require all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application prior to setting up an appointment to visit with the cat(s). We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. If you call or email us, we will provide you with an application via email.

Kitten Policy: Unless otherwise indicated, all cats under the age of 3 must go into a home with another cat/kitten under the age of three or be adopted with a buddy. Ragdolls and Maine Coons are physically slow to mature, benefit greatly from the social interactions with another cat and often long for the companionship. Obviously, some young adults not raised around other cats or with more independent personalities may be exceptions to those rules, but that is up to the discretion of the Rescue to assess that need and is not negotiable. Special prices are made for buddy adoptions.
