About One Good Deed Tn, Inc.
About Our Rescue Group...
One Good Deed Tn, Inc was started in April, 2013 by the Naquin family, who had been very active with volunteer activities and animal advocay for many years. Many shelters and even humane societies claim to be "no kill," but we learned that the “no kill” provisions often had loop holes to allow for regular euthanasias. After losing a healthy, treasured foster dog to euthanasia, despite attempts by several people to adopt her and rescue groups attempts to pull her, we made the decision to start our own organization and make a difference "one good deed" at a time. We needed to do something good to honor our foster dog and decided on that day to start our own organization that would truly be for the good of the animals. One Good Deed Tn, Inc. will not put any animal to sleep for any reason other than as a last resort, on the advice of a veterinarian, for those pets whose suffering can not be cured and who by not humanely euthanizing would prolong its suffering.
We pull animals from all shelters, accept strays, work with other rescues who are too full, and provide medical services and foster care for all breeds of dogs until they are adopted into loving homes that are just right for their needs! We are also proud to assist other non-profit organizations with fostering, transport, and financial assistance for emergencies for both groups and individuals as our resources allow. One Good Deed Tn, Inc. believes that we can make a difference one good deed at a time!
Come Meet Our Pets...One Good Deed Tn, Inc works out of our home and with foster families. We post adoption events to our facebook page and are regulars at our local Buffalo Wild Wings store and also Cordova Hollywood Pet Feed Store. If you are interested in seeing a pet in our care, just give us a call and after we receive an application, we will make arrangements to make an introduction.
Our Adoption Process...
We ask that potential adopters complete the adoption application from our website. After we receive that, we check personal and vet references and set up a time for a home and fence check. We take the dog with us for the home visit and if all is well, the adopters are given a day to get collars, tags, and other items together and we bring back the dog and sign the adoption contract! Adoption fees vary based on the costs of medical that the dog has needed and whether the pet will require transport or be adopted locally.
