I'm 'Pumpkin'. I'm a 2-year old orange tabby cat and I have come to the shelter to seek a new home for myself. I would like to find my forever home soon, so come to the shelter and meet me ASAP.  I have laps (preFURably yours) to lay on and lazy days to embellish!!! I can change your frown into a smile just by showing up--it's what I do.  I would be very happy to listen to your hopes and dreams and help you plan to make them all come true. I can listen to your fears and sorrows and make them disappear. What a great cat I am!!!! Come get me!!!

Best part? My adoption fee has been waived! Just bring in a donation off the shelter's wish list and you get me!

About Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

We are an animal shelter that cares for approximately 1,000 animals per year. We work with Mahaska County and the City of Oskaloosa, IA to provide animal control services and we also work through the Mahaska Humane Society to educate and promote responsible pet ownership as well as low cost spay/neuter services for low income pet owners.

Come Meet Our Pets...

The public can visit our adoptable pets at the Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter any time during normal business hours. We are open to the public Tuesday-Friday 11am-5pm and Saturday 11am-4pm.

Our Adoption Process...

Potential adopters must complete a pre-adoption application in which questions regarding responsible pet ownership are asked. Once approved the adopter is allowed to adopt and must pay an adoption fee which varies based on the age and species of the animal being adopted. At the time of adoption the adopter must sign an adoption contract. All animals are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
