Age: 7 months
Weight: 5 lbs
Personality: Snuggler, Playful, Affectionate, Easygoing, Friendly, Shy
Observations with Dogs: Thomas is being fostered with two dogs and gets along well with them, but also is a little disinterested in them.
Observations with Cats: Great with other cats. Thomas is being fostered with two cats (in addition to two dogs) and does well with them. He sometimes likes to play, sometimes likes to lounge.
Observations with Kids: Thomas has not interacted with kids in his foster home, but is kind and gentle, just a bit shy With a little confidence and getting to know the children, we don't think it will be an issue.
House Training Progress: Good litterbox manners
Location: DC area foster home
Rescued From: Pocahontas County, WV
Additional Information: Thomas is an absolute gentleman. He has great litter box manners and has not even attempted to scratch the furniture, but is a bit on the shy side. However, once he gets to know you, he becomes a full-on lap cat, with all of the snuggles, purrs and nuzzling you could ask for. Just think about that shy kid in elementary school who would not talk to anyone the first few days... once you got to know them, they became your best friend. That's Thomas! Shy at first, but then bursting with love and "purr-sonality." He is great with other cats and coexists with dogs. If this shy, kind, sweet and lovable gentleman is your kitty, please apply now. Who can resist those fantastic grey stripes!
*Thomas is generously sponsored and named by Kirsti L.
If you are interested in meeting a cat, we require an adoption application. Visit http://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/adopt-a-city-kitty.html to apply. If a cat has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon.
If a cat has "NEEDS FOSTER" listed, they are still available for adoption. Information about fostering and our current cat foster needs can be found here: http://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/foster-a-city-kitty.html
City Dogs Rescue is a foster based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. We focus on local adoptions in DC and the metro area of Maryland and Virginia. CDR has a thorough adoption process in order to find the best possible fit for each of our animals (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model).
Our cat adoption fee is $150 unless noted. Prior to arrival, all of our cats are spayed/neutered (unless specified) and given shots for Rabies, FVRCP, and Feline leukemia. They are microchipped and tested for FIV and FeLV. They are dewormed at least twice and given a health check by the vet.
