Maddox's Story...
Well hello there! I'm Maddox and I'm pleased to meet you. I must say, I consider myself to be a "lucky dog". One day, I'm wandering the streets of Houston, without a home, and the next I know, I'm in a very nice home, with a lady who promised me that she will find me a forever home. Luck just seems to follow me and I'd be happy to bring that luck to your life, too. I'm 48 lbs and 1.5 yrs. old. My foster mom says that I'm a bit like a "gentle giant", because I'm very gentle for my size. I'm house-trained, getting used to the crate, very polite, especially when walking on a leash, I'm working on my obedience training and have caught on to a couple commands very quickly. I'm very friendly and love people. I also like car rides, because that's a bit of an adventure, too. I am good with other dogs, but I do appreciate a proper introduction. If you are looking for a fairly chill dog, who enjoys taking some nice walks, but doesn't mind some couch potato moments, I just may be your guy! I'm fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, and have received a clean bill of health. If you'd like to meet me, please contact wagsfund@gmail.com to set up a meet and greet. Thanks.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maddox, a Houston Akita/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Akita/Labrador Retriever for sale in Houston, or seeking a Akita/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Akita/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Akita/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
