Jonas's Story...
"Jonas" is a cute young adult male Terrier mix who arrived at the HSOV on October 5, 2016 after he was picked up in the Cutler Ohio area by the Washington County Dog Warden. This good-looking little man has a black short smooth coat with a tiny patch of white on his chest, a rather long body, a long tail, and a darling face with delicate features including a slender muzzle and short 'horizontal' ears. "Jonas" was understandably apprehensive about being 'booked' into a hotel with people he had not yet met and sooo many other dogs :( One of our kind kennel techs (Michelle Rudd) befriended him and gained his trust as he walked him outdoors for these photos (and then spent some quality time 'hanging out' with him afterwards) :) "Jonas" is a tiny boy who weighs just 14.6 lbs. He will be available for adoption on October 8, 2016 if he is not reclaimed before that date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jonas, a Marietta Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
