My name is Charlie, I’m a purebred Pyrenees, I am only a year old, I tip the scales at around 90lbs…. need I say more? Okay, okay, I will add more. My family surrendered me to this tiny cage a week or so ago. My family gave the shelter humans a list of what I like and what I don’t like. Here goes… I don’t like cats, can’t stand those little monsters. I’m not the biggest fan of small children, chic kens and I don’t think I’m the biggest fan of livestock either. Yes, I’m bred to protect livestock, but I think I could spend forever at my family’s feet in the house. Now, on to what I do like; I like car rides, I love learning new tricks, I love riding in the cars with the windows down and I LOVE bones! Maybe a butcher should adopt me…I might actually work for some extra bones. Also, the rest is up to you. Give me a call or come visit me! I’m the big, white teddy bear; you can’t miss me!

About Saving Whiskers and Tails

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a group of volunteers that realized the need for a rescue in our area for animals that are considered "last chance." We work with neglected, abused, starved, dumped, abandoned, injured animals. We have rehabed and adopted 2 Great Danes that were days from death because of starvation, a dog that was attacked by Coyotes, 2 gun shot victims, a dog that was purposely set on fire (we couldn't save her but we provided the vetting services for the family). We have rescued at least 50 dogs that have been dumped and abandoned including several mothers and litters that we work to get into rescues out of state.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our pets are all in foster homes. One of our volunteers is always available to introduce prospective families to our pets, by appointment.

Our Adoption Process...

We require the family meets the pets for local adoptions and introduces the pet to their family and other family pets. There is an adoption application. We check references, including vet references. The adoption fee is only our vetting fee and any transportation costs that may be incurred.
