Angie was knocking on the door of euthanasia day at the kill shelter when she went into labor. She was rescued by AAVA where she has been able to raise her family in the care of a foster home. Her babies are finding their forever families and now it is Angie's turn. S he is a total love bug who would love nothing more than to be a lap dog (though she doesn't sit on you, but next to you). She rubs against your legs, like a cat, to get your attention for head scratches, butt scratches, and belly rubs.  She loves toys and anything she can chew on.  She enjoys a good run or a leisurely stroll through the neighborhood.  She is good with other dogs as long as they can handle Angie 's rough playing. She would do best in a home with older kids purely due to size and activity level.  She is protective,  but in a non-aggressive manner, and her bark is sure to scare away intruders. She is spayed, heartworm negative and on prevention, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.  Angie is kennel trained and 100% house trained.

About Animal Aid for Vermilion Area

About Our Rescue Group...

To date, Animal Aid for Vermilion Area, a non profit 501(c)3 animal rescue organization located in South Louisiana, has helped rescue thousands of animals.

We have worked through 5 natural disasters, including hurricanes Katrina and Rita. In the aftermath of Katrina, we helped unite people with their pets and saved cattle from drowning and starving.

We also helped pass the Pet Evacuation Bill that keeps service animals and pets from being left behind during a disaster.

We have been helping animals and their owners for over 25 years, and one of our goals is to rescue and rehome as many animals as we can from the local Animal Control facility, a high kill pound with no adoption program.
