Facts about Mr Harold FL

  • Breed: Boston Terrier
  • Color: Black - With White
  • Age: Senior
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 10649522

Mr Harold was a stray, roaming the streets of Coco FL. A shelter there, contacted us to see if we might take him in. We did just as soon as we had a Foster Home that could take him. Harold was skin and bones when we got him. He was most likely used for breeding and was dumped since he was older, blind in one eye, had a huge mast cell tumor between his good eye and ear on the right side of his face. He was also not neutered!

Oftentimes breeders dump their 'rock stars' once they're no longer of value to them. Breeders generally do not take the best of care of these guys; they are simply a source of income. Harold had the necessary surgery to remove the tumor, has been neutered and since he's on a quality diet, he has put on some weight and now looks amazing! He has long legs and a beautiful coat with brindle in it.

Harold gets along well with other dogs, all people and would most likely do well with respectful children. He has a wonderful disposition, is potty/crate trained, loves to go bye bye, walks well on a leash, is a snuggler and gives very gentle kisses. He is a true gentleman in every sense of the word.

All Mr Harold really needs is a safe, comfy place to rest his his head and get spoiled rotten for the rest of his life! He will thank you by providing you with the very best companionship imaginable. Seniors are past all the puppy behaviors and simply want your love and to give love. ❤️

WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER FACILITY WHERE APPLICANTS CAN MEET OUR BT's PRIOR TO INITIATING THE ADOPTION PROCESS. Each are lovingly cared for in our network of private foster homes until the perfect forever home can be found for them.

Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to personally drive/fly to get the dog, over-the-road transports are done typically on a case by case basis.   We can occasionally help with transport, if there is someone traveling your direction.

PLEASE NOTE THAT AFTER MARCH 1, 2014, WE WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM NY, CT, RI, MA, VT AND NH

Please use the foster momma or dad's contact information above for questions.

The process always begins with an application which can be found at The Boston Terrier Rescue of East Tennessee website

Note that in most cases, we do not adopt to families with small children, e.g., 'under 6,' as a precaution to the child's safety and the dog's safety. In some cases with larger Boston mixes or other dogs, we do make exceptions. Please ask the foster momma.

We prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to personally drive/fly to get the dog.  The East Coast division (NC/SC/VA/MD/DC) does have special transport capabilties for their kids.   Ask them.

Also, submission of an application and fee does not guarantee adoption of any specific Boston since that particular dog may have applications pending or may not be the right match for you.

About Boston Terrier Rescue of East Tennessee

About Our Rescue Group...

All breeds have their own particular needs and rescued pets often have special requirements as well, very often in want of medical care, often lacking nourishment and kindness, and often expensive to rehabilitate.

Because we have had Boston Terriers of our own for many years, we are familiar with their habits, peculiarities and their special needs.

We operate across the southeast under the auspices of the Boston Terrier Rescue Network. We share information and resources in all of the USA with affiliated Boston Rescues.

Our Adoption Process...

The adoption fees generally range from $400 for pups and up, to usually four years, $275 for adults, usually $200 when we have a mixed breed Boston.

The fee is generally based on the dog's age and provides for neutering or spaying when required, all required shots, heartworm testing (we endorse "slow kill", a monthly prevention program for heartworms, treatment for other parasites, any other vet visits or urgent medical attention required, and supplies to foster homes. It is our expectation & requirement that these same preventative routine medications be continued as well as any required vet visits after the pet is adopted.

If for some reason a match isn't made the first time around and you are approved, we will keep your application on file for the next opportunity to arise. Our primary goal is to place a dog in the most suitable environment, based on the animal's individual needs and its temperament. The commitment is lifelong and the Boston's interests are always foremost.
