Name:   Orchid       Breed:  Boxer shepherd mix

Approximately Age:  7 months

Approximately Weight:  30 lbs

Currently Living at:  DC foster

Hi, my name is Orchid and I'm a 7 month old, female, 30 pound, boxer shepherd mix looking for my very own furever home. I'm really grateful that the nice people at Lucky Dog are giving me the chance to go to DC and find my special person or people. I really, really don't like the shelter. It's cold and noisy and I get really nervous. I try to be brave and the litter ones, but it's really hard.

Do you think you have some space in your home for a little bed, some fun toys, and maybe some yummy treats? I wouldn't take up too much room. I'll be very good, I promise. I wish I could go to obedience school so I could learn some real doggie manners. I would try so hard and I bet I could be the best in the class!

I love playing with other dogs! I haven't met any cats or kids yet, but I'm willing to give it a try. I just love cuddles and pets. I think I would really like to snuggle up on a couch for a nice nap. That sounds heavenly!

Do you have some space in your home and your heart for a little girl like me? I hope so! I look forward to meeting you!

Like most shelter dogs, Orchid may need a refresher on house training.  She is likely crate trained.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our  Adoption Questionnaire  and email it to   Kristen at .

About Lucky Dog Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a group of highly motivated and highly dedicated volunteers. We spend countless hours making sure that wonderful dogs find loving forever homes. We don't do it for money -- we do it for the joy a dog can bring to its new family; we do it for our love of animals; and we do it to save lives!

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at

Our Adoption Process...

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!
