Chico's Story...
My name is Chico and I am a super sweet boy with lots of energy. I love toys, treats, playing with other pups and soft blankets to curl up on. The folks here say they can't guarantee my breed mix but are guessing I have some Retriever, or terrier mixed in. With those breeds I am bound to be smart and like to have plenty of play and exercise time outdoors, but let's not forget to include plenty of couch time snuggling in our future! If you have the time for an active young puppy and are searching for a happy and adorable new addition then look no further, come in and scoop me up! Chico is looking for a home with kids 10 and up.
Before making the trip to visit the shelter we strongly recommend checking our website for information on adoption policies and procedures. Please understand that because we are a busy place and because so many animals need our care and attention, adoptions are on a first come basis and no animal will be put on hold. To inquire about a pet's availability or for more information, we encourage you to visit our shelter in person. Due to the high volume of interest, email and phone inquiries may not be returned on a daily basis. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to your visit! 978-283-6055 ex 10 for reception desk

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chico, a Gloucester Shiba Inu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shiba Inu for sale in Gloucester, or seeking a Shiba Inu dog from a breeder in Gloucester.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gloucester already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gloucester breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shiba Inu breeders who help with Shiba Inu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gloucester paves the way for another one to be saved.
