Brock's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Brock's Story...
Brock, a senior Saint Bernard, came to MCP after he was abandoned at Chicago Animal Control by his family. Because, they said, after 8 years with him, they no longer had the time for Brock. Luckily, we were able to help get him out of the high kill shelter and into one of our foster homes until he finds his REAL forever. Brock is upset after losing his family, but is settling in to foster life well and starting to show his personality. He's a friendly, calm guys overall. He's good with other pups and kids, and hasn't yet noticed the cat in his foster home:)

Brock, like all St. Bernards, is very large and strong (150+ lbs, we need a bigger scale to get his exact weight), has a thick coat that will shed, and is a slobbermonster - we hope to find prospective adopters with large breed experience!

Mission Compassion Paw Inc is a 501c3 organization that serves the Chicagoland area. You can make a tax deductible donation to MCP via paypal (

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Brock, a Chicago St. Bernard dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a St. Bernard for sale in Chicago, or seeking a St. Bernard dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even St. Bernard breeders who help with St. Bernard rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
