Winifred's Story...
Greetings! My name's Winifred, what's yours? Come closer and let me put a spell on you, a spell of cuteness that is! Can you believe that someone as adorable as me is looking for a home? Well, believe it sisters because I am here at the SPCA. A few things you should know if you're thinking I may be the perfect pup for you: I'm a pretty adventurous gal and enjoy long walks as well as a rousing game of tug. I have also been told I'm pretty spunky, so if you like your dogs with a bit of pluck then we should talk. Don't be offended if we don't click right away, though. Someone as special as me does not give away their love for free, so I will need to get to know you a bit before my true personality shines through. But your patience will be rewarded beyond your wildest dreams if you take the time to get to know me. I do request a home without very young children, though 8 and up will be just fine. As far as other dogs, I'm not a huge fan when they're walked by my kennel, but don't let that fool you. Once I'm outside of the kennel though, I seem to do just fine. So if you have other pups in your home, just talk to the SPCA about setting up a play date. Well, that's all I have to say. Stop by the shelter and see the magic for yourself!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Winifred, a Harrisonburg Jack Russell Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier for sale in Harrisonburg, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier dog from a breeder in Harrisonburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Harrisonburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Harrisonburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Harrisonburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
