Arnold's Story...
Arnold is a hound lab mix just around a year old. He arrived so scared, but truly just wants to be loved on! When we took him outside for photos and playtime, he avoided us for a while. However, after sitting down for just five minutes, he began sitting closer and closer to us. It wasn't long before he was just begging for attention and finally had this big smile on his face! We believe Arnold has a wonderful temperament and will make a great family pet. However, because he is a bit shy at first, we recommend children old enough (teenager age range) to understand that some dogs need space and that it may take a while before Arnold is comfortable being touched all over.

If you've got a soft spot for the dogs who need a little extra TLC to really help them become a carefree, happy dog, then please come meet Arnold! It won't be long before he shows you his pretty smile too!

Feel free to come meet Arnold, or any of our adoptable animals, anytime we are open, no appointment needed. You may contact us on Facebook, email us at pganimals@princegeorgecountyva.gov, or call us at 804-991-3200 if you have any further questions.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Arnold, a Prince George Hound (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever for sale in Prince George, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Prince George.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Prince George already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Prince George breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Prince George paves the way for another one to be saved.
