Max (Maxwell) is a handsome and loving schipperke/schnauzer mix who is about five years old and weighs around 15 pounds. He is very outgoing but can be a little nippy when meeting new people so requires understanding and very patient correction. He would do best in a home with very active adults and, in the right circumstance, extremely respectful older children.
He loves to chase after a ball and looooves to play with toys. Your socks and other articles of clothing will disappear if you don't put them out of reach! Once he trusts you, he is a loving lapdog, wanting to give kisses and snuggle. Except when in your lap, Max is always on the go, exploring his surroundings and seeing if he can find anything interesting to get into. He would make an awesome running or hiking buddy.
He uses a doggie door and is housebroken, although will occasionally mark inside. With correction, this can be controlled.
The adoption fee is $150.00 which includes current vaccines, spaying or neutering and heartworm/flea preventative.
Your first step in adopting a new family member is to fill out an adoption application. The application must be completed with phone numbers and a vet reference (an old one, or a reason why there is not one) before it will be processed. Your application will not be processed without this information. Visit our website at www.humanesocietyofiredell.net to download an application. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE EMAIL email@example.com. Thank you for your interest in our animals!
