Sweet little Flossie didn't have much to smile about a couple of weeks ago. When she and her 4 siblings were turned away from the dog shelter because there were no empty kennels, her owners (who said they were so sad to have to give them up) apparently drove the little family of five northwest of town, dumped them in the woods and sped away. Two days later, the shelter director received a call from an elderly couple at whose home Flossie and her siblings had sought refuge. That's right: those kind, compassionate "owners" dumped Flossie and her siblings miles away making sure they were far enough out to where the poor little dogs would have no chance of finding their way back home. Unfortunately, one of the siblings was hit by a car and killed. Flossie and the remaining three siblings were cared for by the elderly couple until we could at least take in the two females, Flossie and Fiona. (The elderly couple has been kind enough to "foster" the remaining two males even though they weren't seeking to take on that responsibility)

And Flossie hasn't stopped smiling . . . . ever since we've become her guardians and made the promise to find her a family who believes Families are Forever. She's hanging out at the shelter that we like to call "The Group Home" where she's quickly become a volunteer favorite! Not only is she gorgeous and very snuggly, but she's sweet as sugar, super friendly and completely joyful! People of all ages flock to her because she is almost like a real-live stuffed animal -- at about 10 pounds, she's really irresistible! She still gets her puppy crazies every now and then, running around like a little lunatic with her sister, but kisses and cuddles will always be her favorite! Flossie is about a year old, she weighs about 10 pounds and she's a very healthy girl. We have no idea what her true mix is -- do you???
If you'd love Flossie's smile greeting you at the door . . . forever . . . please visit www.pinkshelter.org for more information about the adoption process or click here for our online application. Full vetting and spay included in her $400 adoption fee. Transport fee is additional $150. IF YOU HAVE AOL or YAHOO PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM FILE FOR OUR RESPONSE
