Fostered in Post Falls, ID

My name is Wobbles & I’m a super sweet senior dog. I came to Power of the Paw because my owner had to go to hospice, wherever that is. It’s been hard, especially because I’m deaf. It takes me awhile to get used to new situations & feel comfortable. I have a curious side, but I live life at a slow pace. I’m very mellow & get along great with dogs & cats. There are two teenage humans at my foster home. I like them best when they’re being calm, like me. Sometimes their fast movements scare me but the more I get to know & trust them, the safer I feel around them.

I sleep in my crate at night & I feel comforted if that crate is in the same room with people. I know my foster mom can’t always be home with me, and I don’t mind being in my crate sometimes during the day (I cry for a few minutes, but then calm down), but I will be happiest if you are home a lot & live a pretty low key life.

I like to go for walks & I’m really good on a leash. I walk very slowly because, as my name implies, I wobble. I am not as young as I once was, and I have problems with my legs & hips. A nice slow walk & frequent shorter trips outside keep my joints feeling their best. I am really good at remembering to go to the bathroom while I’m outside & have only had a couple of accidents while at my foster home. I’m not great with stairs or getting on & off the couch, so my foster mom helps me so I won’t hurt myself.

One thing I don’t understand is why my foster mom won’t give me any of that delicious smelling food she is always eating. I am learning that it doesn’t matter how nice I ask, she’s really not going to give me any! If I sit quietly while she eats, she gives me a treat, so I’m learning that it isn’t so bad.

I may be older, but I still have a lot of love to give & joy to bring to someone who doesn’t mind that I’m not fast & full of energy. I’m so sweet & will fill your life & home with love if you decide to adopt me. You can find an adoption application at http://powerofthepaw.org/adopt/dog-adoption-application/.

About Power of the Paw

About Our Rescue Group...

We began in November 2011 as a facebook page that shared dogs in high kill shelters and we grew into something unexpected. We now have fosters, volunteers, and supporters that have grown the rescue into something we never imagined. We are volunteer run, and we are not government funded. We run off community donations.
