My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi... My name is Rouge. I'm a seven-month-old very playful Lab/Heeler/Beagle mix. I'm such a sweet girl and I'm pretty compact too... I'm only about 30 pounds right now and the Vets don't think I'm going to get much bigger. I've got a nice short coat too, so shedding is minimal. I am crate trained and house trained although I don't like being in my crate... If I'm in my crate and I see you I'm going to talk to you until you let me out. I'm great with kids...Little kid kisses are the best...I grew up in a house with 5 kids, ages newborn to 15. They always liked to play. Running is my favorite! I love to play chase. Unfortunately my last family did not have a fenced-in yard and because I love to run so much they were afraid I was going to get hit by a car. I'm looking for a new forever family now, someone with a big yard and other doggies... I've never been around kitties, I don't know what I would do if I ever saw one... But I love doggies... I sleep next to my foster parents bed on a blanket (with their dog) at night and I won't get up until morning. I'm up to date on all my shots, I have been spayed and will be microchipped before adoption. Come meet me... Maybe you can be my next family. I give really good kisses!!!

Are you interested in adopting Rouge or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received.

Completed applications can be sent via email to adopt@jcapl.org, faxed to 919-300-5524, or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at PetSmart in Garner (White Oak Shopping Center).

We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application for Rouge.

Thanks for thinking adoption!
