Acorn's Story...
Little Acorn is just the best little dog. She looks like a schnauzer mix. She is approx 8 years old and 12 lbs. She is quiet and well behaved, gets along with the other dogs, and she likes to wander in the yard and then seek out a doggie bed to curl up in. She loves attention and would be a great companion for someone that can take her on walks and give her lots of TLC. She seems to be leash and house trained. She does have some dry eye and she is on eye drops twice a day. A home with adults would be preferable as she enjoys the quiet life.

The total adoption donation of $475 and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. Some of our dogs are still in Texas in foster care. Our application is online at http://houstonshaggydogrescue.org/application-process/

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Acorn, a Allentown Schnauzer (Miniature) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Miniature) for sale in Allentown, or seeking a Schnauzer (Miniature) dog from a breeder in Allentown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Allentown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Allentown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Miniature) breeders who help with Schnauzer (Miniature) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Allentown paves the way for another one to be saved.
