Ziggy *COURTESY POST*'s Story...
This is a courtesy post. This cat does not belong to PALS. Any decisions about who the animal goes to is made by the current owner. His description, as given to us by his current owner is below.

This is a cat that had found our house. I live in a rental house and am not allowed animals so he is living on and under the porch - which is not a good situation for him. Without claws he keeps getting the short end of the altercations over food. He is free to a home that will keep him indoors.

He is affectionate, huggable, belly rub lover, relaxed - approximately 5 years old and 18 pounds, neutered de-clawed male dark tiger stripe domestic short hair. Rabies shot tag Sept 2016.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ziggy *COURTESY POST*, a Grinnell Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Grinnell, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Grinnell.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grinnell already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grinnell breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grinnell paves the way for another one to be saved.
