Manolo, called "Nolo" for short, is a purebred Persian around 13 years old. She was purchased by original owner as kitten from a Persian cat breed that is no longer operating and can't remember name of breeder. From 2011 to present original owner's best friend has fostered/cared for Nolo.
Nolo has the most delightful personality I have ever come across in a cat. Extremely endearing and delightful - she loves people, to be petted, to lay by you and very joyful. Her vet, who is a dog person, once told me he will never have a cat but if someone told him he must have a cat, he would take Nolo.
She was named after the shoe brand Manolo Blahniks.
Nolo was diagnosed with irriable bowel disease (IBD) in 2011 after she prolapsed her colon; her colon was surgically, internally stapled to prevent recurrence and has been successful up to present time. To manage her IBD symptoms (loose bowel, vomiting) Nolo requires, and has taken for the last 4 years, daily medication of Budesonide. Abrupt stoppage of Budesonide can be fatal therefore if prospective owner is travelling, away from home, etc. arrangements must be made (boarding, someone stopping by the house) for her to receive her daily medication. Additionally, to prevent her from having urinary tract infections she must eat prescription dry food C/D Urinary Cat Food only. **Current foster/owner is willing to cover her Budesonide and C/D Urinary Cat food costs, only, for the remainder of her life. Only the Budesonide and C/D food will be covered - no other vet, medical, boarding, medicinal, additional costs.**
