PAWS of Chinook fills a need in the community by spreading the spay/neuter word, and encouraging responsible pet ownership. We take in strays and owner surrenders, and work to find new homes for them. We do it because we care about companion animals, and want them to have the best life possible in a responsible, loving home.
We appreciate donations, and with more funds, we can save more animals. We'd also love more volunteers and foster homes. Toys, walking dogs, whatever you can do to help would be appreciated!
Come Meet Our Pets...
Our animals either reside in a small shelter building, or they reside in foster homes. People can visit the animals by appointment.
Our Adoption Process...
We are looking for great homes for our dogs. Maybe your home? This is our basic adoption process. We require an adoption application to be filled out that describes your home situation and why you want to adopt. The application includes a number of questions that help us to get to know you, and to determine your situation, and whether the dog would fit into that situation. You must specify several references that will be checked before adoption. In addition, you will need to talk with a PAWS volunteer by phone or in person about the possible adoption. Our adoption application states that if you no longer want the dog, you must return the dog to us. The adoption donation is currently $50.
Thank You! Your message has been sent to PAWS of Chinook.
You'll receive a copy, too, at
to help you keep track of which pets you've inquired about, and which shelters and rescues you've emailed.
NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter!
Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures,
on the pet's details page on Adopt-a-Pet.com.
