Nellie's Story...
Meet sweet, sweet Nellie! We rescued Nellie and her nursing puppies from the streets of Tijuana. We believe Nellie is about 4-5 years old and a Golden Retriever/Lab mix. Nellie absolutely lives for human affection. She will give you a nudge when she wants to be pet and really enjoys playing fetch (shes tireless when it comes to fetch!). Nellie is good with most dogs, but does not care for small dogs that challenge her. She is currently fostered with a dog her size and is doing great. Nellie is house trained, leash trained and is ready for her forever home. She is soon to be spayed, up to date on shots, microchipped and her adoption fee is $200. If you are interested in adopting Nellie, please fill out an online application: https://www.theanimalpad.org/adopt-today-form.html

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nellie, a San Diego Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever for sale in San Diego, or seeking a Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in San Diego.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Diego already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Diego breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Diego paves the way for another one to be saved.
