Vladimir's Story...
Aarf adopts in the Richmond, Va area.

Hi, my name is Vladimir (Vlad for short.) I am a 5 month 20 pound Boxer mix. I am a go getter, but I also know my limits. When I am done playing or feel overwhelmed, I love nothing more than to snuggle up on the sofa.

I didn't have the best start in life and will need some help dealing with extra scary things, like loud noises, meeting new people, or when I think I am in trouble and worried that someone may hurt me. But I am doing better and better every day. I used to hide in a corner and cry, but now all I need is some encouragement from my foster mom or a few sweet words to get me back up and going.
I take a few minutes to warm up to new people but once I do you had better watch out because I am ready to play and give you all the kisses. I love all my foster dog brothers, and don't seem to interested in my cat brothers, although to be honest they haven't let me get close enough to decide what I think of them.

My foster mom says I am the sweetest puppy ever, and I can't say I disagree.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Vladimir, a Richmond Boxer puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Boxer puppy from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
