Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Akio is an 11-month old male red Shiba Inu, who was purchased originally from a Virginia pet store; this sadly means he was likely born to puppy mill parents. His family took very good care of him but he didn’t get the appropriate training for a hyper puppy. He can get very excitable so he jumped and play-nipped the children in his home too much. Thankfully, his family wanted to ensure he went to a good place that would give him the appropriate training. They made sure all his vetting was up to date and gave him to DCSIR to rehome him with a family who would be able to give him the attention and training he deserves.
Akio has been living in a multi-dog home and is doing well; he prefers friendly dogs and loves chasing balls and snuggling with his foster mom. He can demonstrate some leash reactivity, which can be easily modified with a competent force-free dog trainer.
