I am up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
Buddy was rescued after being dumped on a rural road. His litter mate had been shot and the shooter was also trying to shoot Buddy. He can be a little shy at first, but warms up quickly and loves kids! Fixed soon!
LARAS House (Limestone Animal Rescue and Adoption Shelter) started in 2008 with a group of volunteers. The group started because there was no animal rescue organization in Limestone County, Texas. We are still the only no-kill rescue in Limestone County.
Come Meet Our Pets...
We have regular adoption events locally and in surrounding areas. Locations we have held adoption events have included: Mexia, Groesbeck, Corsicana, Ennis, Waco, Tyler, Grapevine, Dallas, Fairfield, and Buffalo, Texas. Call for info on our next event. Of course you can always come to our shelter to adopt. We are out there everyday usually between 10 am and 2pm. If you are coming from out of town, please call first to ensure that someone will be there to help you.
Our Adoption Process...
We screen potential adopters to make sure they are able to adequately care for the animal they are interested in. You can then fill out and application and pay the adoption fee and complete the adoption. We occasionally have more stringent adoption requirements for special needs dogs or in special situations. Call and ask if you are interested in one of our pets.
Thank You! Your message has been sent to LARAS House.
You'll receive a copy, too, at
to help you keep track of which pets you've inquired about, and which shelters and rescues you've emailed.
NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter!
Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures,
on the pet's details page on Adopt-a-Pet.com.
