Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Weezle is one big beautiful dog. When we rescued him, you could feel his bones all over his body. He weighed 56 lbs. He is now up to 64 lbs and could still stand to gain another 5-10 lbs, His coat was also in horrible conditions and he is now just blossoming and is such a handsome boy. He is approx 3 years old. He is a quiet dog, he gets along with his rescue buddies but prefers to hang with people. He does like to have someone around and does not like being in a crate. He would do better having a doggie buddy to keep him company or have an owner that is home a lot of the time. He seems to be well leash and house trained. He looks like a schnauzer/wire haired terrier mix..a really handsome dog.
The total adoption donation of $475 and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. Some of our dogs are still in Texas in foster care. The application is online at http://houstonshaggydogrescue.org/application-process/
Just as a note, if you are in Massachusetts and are adopting directly from Texas rather than from a local foster, there are new quarantine laws in effect. All rescues must be quarantined 48 hours at a state run facility, and in addition, a second interstate health certificate is required to be issued by a Massachusetts vet. This new law may add an additional cost.
